EU herbicide law is halted

Landowners in the Peak District moorlands are celebrating a temporary triumph over European legislation.

An EU ruling that came into force on January 1 banning a herbicide that effectively controls bracken has been given a short reprieve.

The decision follows a campaign by The Bracken Control Group, backed by the Moorland Association.
