On Tuesday afternoon (2/9) the Buxton and Edale Teams were called to The Tipps Car Park, Barber Booth to assist the East Midlands Ambulance Service.
A male walker had been reported collapsed on the footpath between Edale and Upper Booth. He was suffering acute abominal pain and was being cared for by 2 passing walkers.
The casaualty, a 62 year old man from Bramcote, Nottingham was treated on site by the ambulance service and aircrew paramedics.
The Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance had landed nearby, however the casualty’s condition precluded an air lift and so he was placed on a mountain Rescue stretcher and carried to a waiting land ambulance at a nearby farm and transferred to hospital.
