Drugs search leads to arrest

A 25–year–old man was arrested during a police drugs search in which officers visiting several Buxton pubs and clubs.

Officers went into a number of licensed premises in Chapel–en–le–Frith on Saturday evening before heading into Buxton later that night.

A passive drugs dog was involved in the searches, which saw officers visit Spa Bar, in Eagle Parade, Buxton.

During that search, police found a small bag of white powder suspected to be drugs and arrested the man at the scene.

He has since been interviewed on suspicion of possessing a class B drug and has been bailed pending further enquiries.

The searches were part of an ongoing campaign to tackle drug use and supply.

Anyone with information on potential drugs offences is asked to call Derbyshire police on 101.
