A HARD-HITTING campaign warning people about the dangers of drink driving has been welcomed by the Derby and Derbyshire Road Safety Partnership.
The Department for Transport’s Christmas drink drive campaign includes a television advert highlighting the consequences of drink driving.
Partnership chairman Mike Ashworth said: “We’re glad that the dangers of drink driving are being highlighted through this national television advertising campaign.
“Locally Derbyshire Police are staging a festive breath-testing campaign and asking people to report drivers who get behind the wheel after a festive tipple.”
Derbyshire Police have teamed up with Crimestoppers who are offering rewards of up to £1,000 for information leading to the arrest and charge of a drink-driver.
To report a drink-driver call the police non-emergency number 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
