Challenging conditions made it difficult for members of Buxton Mountain Rescue Team when they went to the aid of an injured walker.
A 48-year-old man from Sutton Coldfield sustained a suspected broken ankle. The mud and slippery conditions made it potentially dangerous for the team who carried him on a stretcher from Monks Dale near Tideswell to a waiting ambulance.
The man, part of an organised walking group, was taken to Chesterfield Royal Hospital.
