Derbyshire police set to identify mystery cyclist today

A formal identification is due to be carried out later today on the cyclist who died on the dual carriageway near Dronfield.

Officers trying to identify the man who died after a collision on the southbound carriageway of the A61 at about 3.20pm, on Thursday, July 31, would like to thank the public for their response following an appeal.

Police are now following information received from the public and no longer require any further information.

The cyclist suffered serious head injuries and was taken by air ambulance to Northern General Hospital, in Sheffield, where he later died.
