Derbyshire police name mystery cyclist

Officers who were trying to identify a man who died as a result of a collision in Dronfield have named him today (Thursday, August 7) following a formal identification by his family.

Malcolm Cottam, 55, from Sheffield suffered serious head injuries and was taken by air ambulance to Northern General Hospital, in Sheffield, where he later died.

Police would again like to thank the public for information received in trying to identify Mr Cottam.

Mr Cottam after a collision on the southbound carriageway of the A61 at about 3.20pm, on Thursday, July 31.
