POLICE are investigating the discovery of a woman’s body in Butterley Reservoir near Ripley.
The body was discovered by a dog walker about 7.45am, on Monday, November 19, who immediately alerted police.
A Derbyshire Constabulary spokesman said: “The unidentifiable body is of a woman thought to be aged in her 40s and the discovery is not being treated as suspicious.”
Police have set up a tasking meeting today, November 20, to investigate the matter and establish the identification of the body and circumstances surrounding the discovery near Butterley Railway Station.
Anyone who may have information relating to the discovery are urged to call Derbyshire Constabulary on 101.
