Older people who use two day centres and their families are being asked for their views on moving the services to new venues.

Derbyshire County Council is proposing the moves from older resource centres to new, purpose-built accommodation which will better meet the needs of people using the services.

The proposed moves affect people using Clay Cross Hall in Clay Cross and those receiving day services and respite care at Underhall Resource Centre in Darley Dale.

The authority is proposing to relocate the services provided at Clay Cross Hall to the new Smithybrook View development, in Market Street, Clay Cross. Meanwhile, the proposal is to move day services and respite care from Underhall Resource Centre to Meadow View Community Care Centre, next to the Whitworth Hospital, which is currently being developed by the council.

People affected by the proposals will have received a letter informing them about the consultation and inviting them to attend a meeting to discuss the plans in more detail and raise any concerns. For more information about the meetings, call Helen Greatorex on 01629 531063.
