North East Derbyshire District Council has received a clean bill of health from their external auditors, KPMG for the financial year 2012/13.
The council received the audit report with no recommendations at a meeting on January 6. It stated the authority has established accounts processes to ensure the financial statements presented were of a good standard.
Council Leader, Cllr Graham Baxter MBE said: “To achieve another satisfactory and complimentary audit report is no co-incidence. We pride ourselves on providing good, sound financial management and my thanks must go to all the councillors and staff who work extremely hard throughout the year to make sure the council is run properly.
“We continue to achieve these good audit reports against the backdrop of significant government grant reductions, but we will not get complacent and we will continue to provide good quality services and improve wherever we possibly can.”
The report highlighted that further work will be necessary in order to secure further savings of some £1.9m over the next two financial years.
