POLICE are investigating two break-ins at homes where the offenders stole car keys and fled in the owners’ vehicles.

Offenders struck at a home on Robert Close, Unstone, near Dronfield, overnight, between June 18 and 19, and stole a handbag and car keys before taking a Ford Fiesta from the property.

During another offence, burglars got into a home on Swanwick Street, at Old Whittington, Chesterfield, between 11pm, on June 18, and 7.30am, on June 19, and stole care keys and a black, Mitsubishi Evo.

A Derbyshire Constabulary spokesman said: “Due to the timing, location and timing of these offences there is a possibility they could be linked.”

Witnesses are urged to call police on 101 or Crimestoppers in confidence on 0800 555 111.
