Missing Tim Beardsley.

A man who disappeared exactly two years ago may have been spotted in Malaga, police have revealed.

Tim Beardsley, 46, of Station New Road, Old Tupton, has not been seen or heard from since July 9, 2012.

Police this week said they have received several possible sightings of Mr Beardsley both in the UK and abroad.

His wife Terrie, 46, said the news gave her hope.

She told the Derbyshire Times: “It’s been an emotional two years.

“I’m convinced Tim is still alive and the news about the possible sightings keeps me going.

“If he’s reading this now, I want him to know that everyone wants him back home.

“I miss him so much.”

PC Richard Hill, who is leading the investigation, said: “Since Mr Beardsley’s disappearance – which was completely out of character – we have had several possible sightings in both the UK and abroad.

“Most recently, a sighting was reported near Malaga airport, while we have also had calls about sightings in the Birmingham area.

“I’d like to thank those who have contacted us so far and urge people to continue looking for Mr Beardsley and to report any possible sightings straight away.”

Mr Beardsley’s car was found near Ullswater in the Lake District five days after he was reported missing by his wife.

Mrs Beardsley has distributed thousands of posters in a desperate bid to trace her husband and a Facebook group has also been set up.

Mr Beardsley is white, 5ft 10in, with short, brown hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a pale blue and maroon striped sweatshirt and blue jeans.

Police are appealing for Mr Beardsley or anyone who has information on his whereabouts to contact officers on 101.
