AS DERBYSHIRE commuters and residents struggled today, Monday, January 21, with delays to bus and train services and school closures during the snowfall some have been able to enjoy the fun side of the winter weather.

Queen’s Park, in Chesterfield town centre, attracted one family who were enjoying a morning’s sledging with two youngsters and Richard Weightman, of Chesterfield, and his friend Beth made a fantastic snowman.

Temperatures across the county are sticking at around minus 1 degree centigrade and there is likely to be more light snow during today, January 21. Forecasters are also warning of widespread ice on untreated roads and widespread frost for this evening.
