Tapton Lock is hosting a weekend of free activities this Saturday and Sunday between 11am and 4pm.
The celebration weekend at Derbyshire County Council’s Tapton Lock visitor centre on the banks of the Chesterfield Canal includes live folk music, street theatre performances, floating film screenings, have-a-go canoe rides, art workshops and craft stalls.
There will be celebrated guest appearances by Canal poet laureate Jo Bell, folk singer Judy Dunlop and the Chesterfield Folk Club.
The event is being held in partnership with Junction Arts and is funded by Derbyshire County Council, Arts Council England, the National Lottery and Chesterfield Borough Council.
Parking for the event will be available in the former Tesco Superstore car park on Meltham Lane in Chesterfield just off the A61.
Disabled parking for Blue Badge holders will be at Mercedes Benz on Lockoford Lane in Chesterfield.
