More than 74 per cent of local people sitting their driving test have passed at the Chesterfield test centre in the last five years, figures reveal.

The statistics, which have been uncovered by the Derbyshire Times in a Freedom of Information Act request, show that out of 10,156 people that took their test at the Chesterfield test centre, 7,608 passed their test.

Of this number, less than half passed on their first attempt, with 3,393 people managing to overcome their practical test first time.

The figures also show that during this five year period, it took three people 14 times to pass their practical test, one person 15 times, one person 17 times and the most attempts taken have been recorded by an individual who finally passed on their 20th attempt.

How many attempts did it take before you passed your test? Do you think the practical test is too hard, or too easy, or do you just have an interesting story to tell about your test? Get in touch!
