A bus driver and passengers helped deter a robber as he tried to grab a woman’s handbag.
The Stagecoach driver stopped to help the 58-year-old woman on Sheffield Road, Chesterfield at 8pm on Monday, January 29 as masked man attempted to grab her bag.
Bus passengers also went to assist the woman and the offender ran off.
He is described as being between 5ft 7 – 9ins tall and was wearing a dark top and blue jeans.
He also wore a scarf or mask covering his face.
Police who are investigating the crime have spoken to the bus driver but are appealing for any passengers who were on the X17 to come forward.
