CHESTERFIELD: Borough council disruption to services

Bin collections

All green bin collections and collections from flats have been suspended today. Blue and black bins are being collected as usual. If you are due to have your blue or black bin collected, please leave it out as usual.

Cemeteries and crematorium

Cemeteries and Chesterfield and District crematorium are open. Families are advised to check with the funeral director if the service is able to go ahead.

Leisure centres

Queen’s Park Leisure Centre and the Healthy Living Centre in Staveley are open. Please check with the centres if classes are running. Call 01246 345559 for Queen’s Park Leisure Centre or 01246 345666 for the Healthy Living Centre. Heating tokens for reisdents on the district heating scheme are available at the Healthy Living Centre.

Vulnerable adults

Snow clearing and gritting is being carried out outside sheltered housing complexes. Mobile wardens are currently contacting residents. The careline (01246 471574) will remain staffed at all times for enquiries from elderly and vulnerable residents.

Revenues

The Town Hall and the temporary revenues payment office in the basement remain open. The Borough Council’s call centre remains open. For general enquiries call 01246 345345.

Town Centre

SpirePride teams have been out since early morning clearing snow and gritting pavements and footpaths around the town centre.
