CHESTERFEILD: New community bobby

PC Matt Rodda

PC Matt Rodda

A new community bobby is out on patrol on in Holmewood, Grassmoor, Calow and Arkwright.

PC Matt Rodda joined the Safer Neighbourhood team for the New Year, taking over the reins from PC Sarah Allcock.

Matt has been a police officer for more than five years, starting his career at Clay Cross and also working in the response teams at Chesterfield.

Outside of work PC Rodda enjoys football and plays with a five a side team. He lives in the Chesterfield area with his wife, and they are expecting a baby in March.

He said: “I’m looking forward to the challenge of my new role and getting to know the people in the community. Being on the Safer Neighbourhood team means I have the chance to be more proactive, and to work towards resolving any issues that come up in the long term.

“Having worked locally for most of my career, I’m fortunate enough to know the area and I’ve already been out on patrol on foot and on bicycle despite the poor weather.”

PC Rodda joins PCSO Kerry Harrison and PCSO James Land on the Holmewood, Grassmoor, Calow and Arkwright Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team. He replaces PC Sarah Allcock who has moved to work on the Heanor and Loscoe team.

To contact your local Safer Neighbourhood policing team call 101, the non emergency number for Derbyshire police, or visit the website: www.derbyshire.police.uk.
