Chapel-en-le-Frith High School welcomed back its recent Year 11 students to present them with their examination certificates and celebrate the most successful year group to date at the school.

The students, almost 70 per cent of whom achieved five or more high level GCSE passes including English and Maths, returned to have their successes applauded in front of a packed audience of staff and parents.

Recently retired Headteacher, Stuart Ash, presented the certificates and gave a rousing speech emphasising the importance not just of qualifications, but also the skills and qualities that enable young people to succeed in life.

Headteacher Simon Grieves thanked staff and parents, as well as the students, for all the hard work that they had put in over the years in preparation for such a stunning set of results.

In addition to their examination certificates, students also received nominations and subject prizes for effort and attainment.
