CCTV IMAGES: Do you recognise these Chesterfield suspects?

Waiting for Video...

Police in Chesterfield have released CCTV images of people they would like to speak to in connection with a number of shop theft incidents in the area.

The offences happened between June and August this year in the town centre, Hasland and Brimington, with items including food, toiletries, cleaning products, DVDs and a mobile phone being stolen.

Sergeant Dave Harrison of the Chesterfield Community Safety Partnership said: “Shoplifting has a significant cost to the local economy and it is a crime that both Derbyshire police and Chesterfield Community Safety Partnership take seriously.

“Shoplifting offences have seen a reduction of around one per cent in Chesterfield over the last few months of this financial year compared to the same period last year, and we want to continue that trend.

Sgt. Harrison added: “Many businesses are members of the Chesterfield Shop Watch scheme and those arrested may not only face a criminal prosecution but also a Chesterfield Shop Watch ban, banning them from shops across the Chesterfield area.”

Anyone with information on any of the people in the CCTV images should contact Derbyshire police on 101, and quote the reference number shown on the image.

Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
