Motorists are being advised that they cannot pay for fuel using debit or credit cards at Tibshelf services today.
Motorways signs on the M1 Southbound were this morning warning that there was ‘no fuel at Tibshelf services’.
But a representative from the service station said that petrol and diesel are both available providing customers are able to pay in cash.
It is thought the problem, which is being caused by a lack of power to chip and pin devices, could last into tomorrow.
