And the winning street name is...

THE winning name for a street which will run through the new housing development at Chesterfield FC’s old Saltergate ground has been announced as Spire Heights.

The name, which was chosen following a public vote, was the idea of life-long Spireites fan Trevor Barker, of Clay Cross.

He said: “I’d like to dedicate the new street name to all Spireites but especially my two late uncles, Ron and Bill, who introduced me to the game.”

Pictured is Cllr John Burrows, leader of the borough council, winner Mr Barker and Spireites chief executive Chris Turner.
