WITNESSES are being sought by Derbyshire Police after an 84-year-old woman had a bag snatched from her as she walked home through Alfreton.

At around 2.30pm on Sunday, January 20 the woman was walking along the car park area of Rogers Lane towards Firs Gardens when a man grabbed her bag before running away.

The bag was blue/grey in colour, around 12”x10” and contained cash and cards.

The victim was not injured during the incident.

The thief is described as white, aged around 15 to 18-years-old, with short brown hair and possibly wearing dark clothing.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the theft.

Anyone with information is asked to call PC Helen Bennett on the police non-emergency number 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
