Adoption data in new map

A NEW Government map has revealed the number of children waiting to be adopted in Derbyshire.

The map – released by the Department of Education in a bid to cut waiting lists – shows that 48 or more children need adopting in the county.

As well as the map, the Government has launched a new advice line to aid potential adopters.

Edward Timpson, children and families minster, said: “We know many potential adopters can provide children with loving, stable homes but simply don’t know where to start.

“These new tools will give many more people support in taking the first steps to adopting a child and giving them the chance to succeed in life.”

The advice line number is 0300 222 0022.
