Big-hearted footballers raised over £300 during a charity match in memory of a much-respected former vice chairman.

Grassmoor FC held the game at Barnes Park, Grassmoor, last Sunday, June 14, as a tribute to Dave Bacon who sadly passed away six months ago.

Money raised will go to the Renal Unit at Chesterfield Royal Hospital where Mr Bacon was treated.

Club chairman David Cooper said: “The game ended in an honourable draw both after full time and after penalties had been taken by every player on the pitch.”

The event in honour of Mr Bacon, who was a long-standing club supporter, committee member and fundraiser, raised £322.42.
