YOUNG people who were helped by a training organisation to boost educational skills, work and business opportunities have had their achievements recognised at an awards ceremony.

Past learners at Juniper Training on Dock Walk, Chesterfield, were presented with certificates marking their success in the National Open College Network step-up diploma and City and Guilds level 1 in English, maths and ICT.

The awards ceremony in the conservatory at Queen’s Park was attended by the Mayor and Mayoress of Chesterfield, Cllr Donald Parsons and his wife Diane, and managing director Richard Holt.

John Daley, training officer at Juniper, said: “The Celebrating Success event was a culmination of 22 weeks of hard week that covers English, maths, ICT and personal development.

“The final goal of all this is to ensure each person who attends our course is in a stronger positions to find work and or training in a career path they want to be in.”
