POLICE want to trace a couple of good samaritans who helped a woman after she was assaulted on the street.
The incident happened at about 9.30pm on Tuesday April 24 on Church Lane in Eckington.
A 42-year-old woman was assaulted on the street. She sustained minor head injuries.
A passing motorist stopped to see if the woman needed help.
He told her his name was Andy and he and his woman passenger took the victim home to Darcy Road in Eckington.
Officers would like to trace these good Samaritans who were travelling in a white or cream coloured car.
A 40-year-old man was arrested and questioned in connection with the assault. He has been released on police bail while further enquiries are made.
DC Mark Woodcock of Dronfield CID said: “I’d really like to hear from the couple who helped this woman. Even if they didn’t see the assault they may have information that will help my investigation.
“They, or anyone else who has information, can ring me on the non-emergency number 101.”
