A romantic couple who swept each other off their feet when they first met at a dance in Chesterfield have recently gone on to celebrate 50 years of marriage.
Violet, 67, and Peter Wilson, 68, of Newbold, Chesterfield, met at the Market Hall dance and tied the knot at Chesterfield register office.
Mrs Wilson, who is known by her middle name Margaret, said: “We had a wonderful family party for our golden wedding anniversary at our daughter Tracy’s home and we also celebrated with a holiday to Gran Canaria.”
Mr Wilson, who worked as a foundry supervisor, and Mrs Wilson, who worked as a school crossing lady, went on to have two sons Peter and Julian and a daughter Tracy.
They also have eight grandchildren including Lee, Rebecca, Sophie, Chris, Matt, Jessica, Ellie and Callum.
