Toffee apples at the ready – Bonfire Night is almost upon us.

Here is our round-up of the best events in the region.

n In Amber Valley on Friday, November 1 – 6pm to 11pm at Amber Valley Rugby Club, Lower Somercotes. Derbyshire’s biggest fireworks display and monster fire.

n In Dronfield on Saturday, November 2 – the Great Fire of Dronfield fireworks and bonfire display at Dronfield Woodhouse Sports and Social Club, Carr Lane, Dronfield. 6pm onwards.

n In Staveley on Saturday November 2 – Field below Staveley Hall, 6pm to 9pm. No dogs, personal fireworks or alcohol allowed.

n In South Wingfield on Saturday, November 2 – South Wingfield Social Club is to host a bonfire party on November 2, starting at 6.30pm.

n At Chatsworth House on Saturday, November 2 and Sunday, November 3 – gates open at 6.30pm, bonfire lit at 7.15pm and fireworks at 8pm. Adults £12 and children £8; call 01246 565430.

n In Chesterfield on November 5 – Chesterfield Borough Council’s Stand Road Firework Extravaganza 2013. Gates open at 6pm, Fireworks at 8pm. Event to finish around 9pm.

n In Chesterfield on November 5 – St Peter and St Paul School playing field, Hady Hill, Chesterfield. Children’s rides, hot food and sweet stall. Gates open at 6pm, bonfire lit 6.30pm and fireworks at 7pm. Advance tickets available from Chesterfield VIC.
