Delighted students, staff and parents are celebrating this year’s record results which have surpassed last year’s best ever with a six per cent increase at GCSE.

An 89per cent of students gained 5+ A* - C Grades with 74per cent of these at 5+ A* - C including English and maths. A 67per cent of students gained at least one A*/A Grade and 21per cent gained five A*/A straight top grades.

Headteacher Teresa Roche, of Dronfield Henry Fanshawe School said: “We are delighted for our students, their families and our staff that their hard work has resulted in such a good performance. The most important thing is that students across the board have reached their potential and are now well placed to move on to the next phase of their learning.

“These results follow our best ever at A Level last week and our recent Ofsted Inspection which reported the significant improvements the school has made since the last inspection and judged the school to be ‘a Good School and a real Learning Community’.

“We are also celebrating the first ever set of results for our Year 9 Cohort who studied for GCSE in one year and have achieved tremendous rewards with many of the top grades.

“This year has been fantastic for our whole school community and particular thanks must go to our staff including those who work directly with students and those who work across the school making sure that the school operates so effectively.”
