Fundraising Flagg cyclists photo gallery glory

Big-hearted cyclists were captured in a series of fantastic photographs as they took part in the JE James and Derbyshire Times’ Flagg Challenge for Ashhgate Hospice.

More than 100 heroic fundraisers, cyclists and marshals helped make this year’s event a popular success.

Assistant manager Mick Burr, of JE James Cycles, Chesterfield, said: “Everything went very well and it was a great to be able to help out with mechanicals and keep them fuelled with food and drink.”

Riders took on 55, 25 and 10 mile rides on Sunday, July 27, to raise thousands of pounds for the charity on Ashgate Road, Chesterfield.

Team turn-outs included The Andy Moore Autocentres Racing team and the Bolsover cycling club.

Brave efforts by independent entries Ian Parsons, of Middlecroft, Matt Randle and Michael Tuck captured the brave spirit of the day.

And photographer Eric Gregory captured the atmosphere with a reel of great pictures.
