Whaley Bridge Youth Club has been given a donation of £250 from the Co-operative Pharmacy in the town.

Co-operative members in the area spent four weeks voting for who they wanted to receive the donation, with the youth club being chosen over Whaley Water Weekend.

Rebecca Harman, District Youth Worker, said: “We are extremely grateful to all the Co-operative members who voted for us.

“Funding is becoming harder than ever to secure and local community groups like ours are feeling the effects, so the grant will be greatly valued.

“The support we have received from Whaley Bridge residents through this scheme has made us feel proud to be part of this community.

“It will continue to help young people learn new skills, more about respect and responsibility, while they also have fun on Tuesdays and Fridays.”
