Free training for volunteers

Voluntary and Community Services Peaks and Dales is running a free training course for any volunteer aged 16 years and over who works with children or young adults, or who wants to volunteer in the future.

The Volunteer Passport course covers key skills such as safety and first aid, getting the opinions of young people, and keeping children safe.

There will be five half day training sessions.

Those who successfully complete the course will receive a Volunteer Passport certificate and identity badge as an accredited volunteer recognised by Derbyshire County Council.

The next free course starts on April 30 at Fairfield Surestart, St Nicholas Hall, in Victoria Park Road, Buxton, SK17 7PE.

It will run from 10am until 1pm on April 30, May 7, 14 and 21 and June 11.
