Four arrested on suspicion of stealing lead

POLICE have arrested four men on suspicion of stealing lead.

Officers stopped a car in Mill Road, Cromford, just before 2am today (Thursday, July 7) and found it to be full of lead.

Four men in the car, aged 30, 24, 22 and 20, were arrested. Three of the men are from Nottinghamshire while the 20-year-old is from Rotherham.

They remain in custody and are being questioned.

Police are investigating whether the recovered lead was taken from Tor Café, in Derby Road, Cromford.

The café owner arrived at work this morning to find lead flashing had been taken from the roof some time since 2.30pm yesterday (Wednesday, July 6).
