POLICE in south Chesterfield are hoping to reel in youngsters with fishing and other activities throughout the summer holidays.
Officers from the Holmebrook and Rother Safer Neighbourhood Team are working with Rother Sports Action Group to offer a variety of sessions during the school holidays.
As well as fishing there are activities to suit everyone including football, cricket, bowling, Gamezone, cookery classes and arts and crafts.
Sessions are currently underway and run Monday to Friday throughout the holidays.
PCSO Jude Cornwall said: “We have a packed calendar of activities this year and we hope they will be as successful as last year.
“We still have a number of places left for our fishing trip which should be a fun day for anyone interested in fishing.”
The fishing day will be held at Barlow Fisheries on August 22 from 9am to 4pm. To book a place call 01246 236531.
Officers are also asking anyone with fishing equipment they do not use any more to donate this to the youngsters for their trip.
The sessions are supported by Sporting Futures, Derbyshire County Council and The Co-operative.
