A VILLAGE which lost its post office is celebrating the facility’s return – at the local church.

Tanley’s post office closed when the village shop was lost five years ago.

After it was clear that no-one else would revive the shop, the parish council looked for suitable premises to host a new post office service, which has been found at the Brunswick Room of Tansley Methodist Church on Church Street.

Tansley Parish Council chairman Cllr Vicki Raynes said: “The parish council would like to thank the post office for their help and support in getting this venture under way, and encourage all residents to use this valuable facility.”

The service will run from 10am to 1pm every Friday.
