Firefighters battled a blaze at Masson Mills in Matlock Bath this morning.
Three fire engines - two from Matlock and one from Wirksworth - were called to the historic building on Derby Road shortly before 8.30am.
On arrival, crews found flames in a lift on the ground floor and extinguished them before leaving the scene at about 9.15am.
It is not yet known what caused the blaze. Thankfully, nobody was injured.
Sir Richard Arkwright built the Grade II-listed landmark in 1783 as a water-powered cotton spinning mill. It is now home to a shopping centre, museum and conference centre.
