KIND-HEARTED fundraisers have lit up a neighbourhood with an outdoor Christmas lights display for three worthy causes.
Malc Muldoon and wife Lesley, of Ankerbold Road, Tupton, decked their home with festive illuminations with help from friend Terry Wildsmith, of Morton.
Mr Muldoon, 68, said: “This is the seventh year we’ve lit up our home and since we started fundraising we’ve raised a grand total of nearly £10,000 from public donations for good causes.”
Passers-by are urged to make donations which will support Chesterfield’s Ashgate Hospice, Sheffield’s Weston Park cancer care hospital and the Marie Curie Cancer Care charity.
Mr Muldoon added: “We always raise money for Ashgate Hospice and Weston Park but we also like to pick a different third charity every year.”
He explained he is keen to support cancer-related charities this Christmas after he has undergone treatment for the Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma blood cancer.
Mr Muldoon’s lights were switched-on, on December 1, and will stay on until January 7, and include reindeers, polar bears and penguins.
