A young male singer with an unbroken voice is being sought to play the lead role of James in a community production of James and the Giant Peach, based on the well-loved Roald Dahl story.
The appeal has come from organisers of Buxton Festival, whose development manager Claire Rhodes said: “This would be a great opporutnity for a young singer to perform at the region’s leading Festival. This a solo role and the selected singer will be joined by a community cast from local primary and secondary schools, a youth choir and a professional band and creative team.
“James and the Giant Peach will be the highlight of the festival’s community programme and we think this will be an exciting experience for an aspiring and talented young singer hoping to develop their skills - support and coaching will be available.’
The show will be performed on July 9 and 11 nd the chosen singer must be available on these dates, and for rehearsals on July 5 and 6, as well as other dates to be agreed.
