CHESTERFIELD Fairtrade Group is backing Fairtrade Fortnight with events to promote the foundation’s efforts to provide business support to under-privileged countries.

A Fairtrade stall will be running in the town’s Market Place, from midday to 3pm, on Thursday, March 1, and a Big Sing will be held at the Central Methodist Church Hall, on Saltergate, from 2pm to 5pm, on March 4.

The Big Sing includes a fashion show, a presentation and stalls. There will also be a Fairtrade lunch at Chesterfield College from midday, on March 7, and a question session with a banana producer from 2pm.

A coffee morning with the Chesterfield Mayor will be held at The Pavements, near Poundland, from 10am, on March 8.
