We have been asking readers to nominate their favourite hairdressing and beauty salon, somewhere that’s a cut above the rest and doesn’t take you at face value.

And from a shortlist of 13 finalists, you picked Face Facts Beauty & Body Salon as the deserving winner of the inaugural title for 2014.

The Spring Gardens salon is an established provider of professional beauty and body care in the High Peak for almost 30 years.

Customers are offered a comprehensive range of treatments to choose from, covering the full spectrum of beauty and bodycare, and using the latest treatments and products.

Rachel McGowan, who joined Face Facts 17 years ago and has led the long-standing team for the past four years, said: “It is great to be named Buxton Advertiser Salon of the Year.

“As a long-standing salon, it means everything to us to be acknowledged by our clients for the services we provide.”

Editor Jonathan Dodds said: “I am delighted to present this award to Face Facts, who are worthy winners of the competition. The Advertiser prides itself on being at the heart of our community, and it is always good to acknowledge what our readers think of local businesses and services.”
