Paul Davis, of Bakewell, will use his passion for the great outdoors to bring fun-filled boot camps to the Dales.

Drawing on his experience in the RAF and Territorial Army, Paul is now leading the outdoor camps three times a week at Chatsworth grounds for beginners, intermediates and more advanced fitness enthusiasts.

Paul said: “I have an engaging style of coaching and possess a sergeant major volume so that people can hear me clearly!

“My boot camps involve circuits, running, sprinting, bodyweight exercises and a real emphasis on team spirit and fun.

“I try to weave in as many games as possible in the session.

“My motto to my clients is: if it doesn’t challenge you, it won’t change you.”

Paul, who joined the RAF in 1987, served in Northern Ireland and became an RAF Boxing Light Heavyweight Champion.

He also served in the Territorial Army from 2004 to 2007 with the Royal Logistics Corp and worked at West Midlands Police in a custody role.

Paul then retrained as a countryside manager but has now turned his attention to the health and fitness industry.

Paul, who trained with www.lifetimetraining.co.uk and gained a number of qualifications, said: “I really enjoyed the practical element.

“I’ll always remember my trainer, Lisa Philips, offering me a piece of advice before my group circuit training assessment.

“She said, ‘showcase yourself Paul, it’s your chance to show how good you are,’ and I have never looked back.”

And Paul’s not stopping there.

He wants to add the exercise referral qualification to his belt to help people with specific medical problems such as diabetes and osteoarthritis. Paul added: “If you are passionate about anything in life, it doesn’t matter what age you are.”
