BRAVE Emily Bell – who is battling leukaemia – sang on stage at a fundraising event to help send her on a trip of-a-lifetime.
The 11-year-old performed with Chesterfield act Aquablakk in the emotional night, also starring five other acts from opera to R and B, at Pacific Bar last Wednesday.
More than £1,000 was raised to help send Emily on her dream trip to swim with dolphins when she finishes gruelling chemotherapy.
Her mum Andrea Bennett, of Brooks Road in Barrow Hill, said: “It was a lovely night.
“Emily’s not very good at the moment but she’ll always sing even though she can’t get up the stairs.
“Thanks to everyone who helped put on the night and donated.”
Aquablakk are recording track A Song For Emily – starring her rapping the opening lines – to raise money for her holiday to Florida.
Band manager Cliff Richard added: “Emily sang The Climb and seemed to really enjoy it.
“She’s not been eating very well but performed on the night and it seemed to perk her up a bit.”
