The 25th annual Junior Schools Poetry Reading Competition was sponsored by Chesterfield Rotary Club and hosted by the governors and headteacher of Hady Primary School.

Emily-Jane Peake from Hady School won the trophy for her reading of The Crocodile and runners-up were Nathan Fletcher from Calow School who read The Aliens Have Landed and Tom Carter from Hady who read Sammy by Willy Russell.
