Olympic torch bearers

Students from Lady Manners School went to talk to the children at Flagg Nursery School about the Olympic Games, which are to be held in London in the summer of 2012.

The Flagg children, aged from two to five years, learned that the Olympic mascots are called Wenlock and Mandeville, and are made from Sheffield steel.

Teams of students from Lady Manners School and their catchment primary schools competed in designing a unique ‘Olympic Torch’.

The winning team was led by Isobel McNulty (pictured left) who came to Flagg Nursery School with a group of Year 11 sports leader students to present the winning design.

The torch will be passed around all the other Lady Manners catchment primary schools in a variety of sporting and physical methods, until it is returned to Lady Manners.
