Derbyshire County Council is urging students not to be too downhearted if they don’t get the grades they want when A-level results are published today (Thursday).

Councillor Jim Coyle, deputy cabinet member for young people, said students’ first stop should be their school or college, which will have advisors on hand, or they can drop in to Buxton Connexions Centre, at the Fairfield Youth Centre, on Victoria Park Road, for careers advice and guidance.

For those not thinking about higher education, check out the apprenticeship website at apprenticeships.org.uk or visit the Derbyshire Skills Festival, a careers event at the University of Derby at Buxton, on September 24, between 3.30pm and 8pm.
