Eckington Parish Church is holding a number of events during June to celebrate our Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

This weekend, on June 2, members of the congregation are hosting by invitation a Jubilee Party for children with disabilities and adults with special needs.

This is an opportunity for those in our community who may miss out on other celebrations. The congregation of St. Peter & St. Paul’s church are putting these members of our community first in our Jubilee celebrations.

On Sunday, June 3, along with the majority of her citizens, we shall be watching the Queen’s pageant unfold on the Thames. During that pageant church bells will be being rung up and down the country. We at Eckington will be announcing the start of the afternoon celebrations by ringing our church bells starting at 12 noon. So listen out for this signal of the start of an afternoon of celebration for our truly remarkable monarch.

Later in the month we will be holding our own normal Summer Garden Party which this year will be very much on a Jubilee theme. Look out for more details later including news about Kate! who will be judging our children’s fancy dress.
