Duo volunteer with In Bloom on DofE mission

Two Highfields School students have volunteered to help spruce up the streets of Darley Dale in a bid to achieve their Duke of Edinburgh Awards (DofE).

Year nine students Sylvie and June have joined the Darley Dale In Bloom society where they have been doing community service.

The duo are on track to obtain their bronze awards. On Sunday, February 5, the girls took part in a litter pick along the new cycle path in the town. They collected several bin liners of litter, resulting in a much cleaner environment for everyone to enjoy. The Matlock students are also responsible for the upkeep of the Knot Garden.
