On a cold and snowy morning, ten hardy members of Dunston Walking Group met in Chesterfield town centre to catch the bus to the Barley Mow at Wingerworth.

Joan and Cyril Botham led them on part of the Chesterfield Round Walk first going down the field by Hill Houses and onto Hallhouses Lane and then over the stones to Salem Independent Chapel. The party walked over the fields to Green Wood before comming out onto Harperhill. After this the party continued on over Well Close Wood and Clayton Upper Wood to Broadgorse Farm before comming out onto the main Matlock Road.

The walkers travelled down to Walton Lodge Farm crossed several fields, some quite tricky with several feet of snow drifts. The chair of the group, Granville Harby, managed to roll down one of the fields.

The party finally landed at Bage Hill Farm and went into Holymoorside before having a lunch stop and then catching the bus back to town.

Next week see the group going to Attenborough Country Park and Sawley Bridge Marina.
