Dump truck stolen in Clay Cross

Police are appealing for witnesses after a dump truck was reported missing from a building site in Clay Cross.

The yellow, JCB branded machine disappeared from a site on the A61 between 5.30pm on Wednesday, September 27 and 7.25am the following morning.

PC Chris Wright from Derbyshire Constabulary said: “We know the truck was removed at some point between the closing of the site for the evening and when staff arrived the next morning.

“It’s likely to have taken place late during the night, which will have been conspicuous. If anyone saw it, we’d love to hear from you.

“Those with plants on their building sites, particularly in the Clay Cross and Tupton area, should meanwhile be mindful of keeping them as secure as possible overnight to avoid similar incidents.”
